You Probably Aren’t Drinking Enough Water

Its 9:21AM and I have already downed 3 liters of water today, which is pretty normal for me, but likely not normal for you.  So I wanted to explain just how much QUALITY water you should be drinking.

IMO, we need more water today than what people needed a few decades ago.  The reason is blue light and non-native EMF (nnEMF).  The modern world is a very different place than the world our ancestors evolved in, so we need to take different precautions, and hyper-hydration is one of them.
If you have read my blog or talked to me, I am sure you won’t be surprised to hear me say that blue light dehydrates your body.  Why does this happen?  Because blue light slows down the electron chain transport in the mitochondria, which is where water is made during aerobic respiration (beta-oxidation of fats).  When you slow down the mitochondria, you slow down the production of water inside the cell.  This is corroborated in studies that show how blue light at night slows down the metabolism.
Blue light also raises cortisol levels, which is widely known in the medical community and referred to as “The Dawn Phenomenon.”  This is so well established that it is ubiquitous in the diabetes literature.  The reason this is an important factor with regard to hydration is because cortisol also causes dehydration.
And finally, nnEMF also dehydrates the body because it also raises cortisol.  Check out this excerpt from a paper on the FCC’s website:
Another study measured urinary secretion of the stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline, along with levels of dopamine and phenylethylamine, prior to and over the 1 1/2 years following the installation of a GSM cell phone tower in Rimbach, Bavaria. Levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline showed a significant increase over the first six months after exposure, and never returned to baseline levels.
We now live in a world in which nnEMF from cell phones, WiFi, Bluetooth, smart meters, and other “smart” devices, are all bombarding us with thousands of times more EMF than what our ancestors were exposed to with just the Sun and the Schumann Resonance.  The fact that we actually did evolve to sense the natural EMF present on Earth is why the nnEMF is such a big deal; our bodies can sense it!
All of this conspires against us to create a world in which we are constantly fighting to maintain proper hydration.  If you add on top of that, a highly strenuous intense training session that uses glycolysis (sugar) instead of beta oxidation (fat), AND you do it either (1) under blue light in a gym, or (2) outdoors in extreme heat and humidity, you are literally creating conditions that are ripe for severe dehydration.
If you add in to that mix, the fact that most people are drinking unfiltered tap water that contains things like pharmaceuticalsMTBE, and glyphosate (Round Up), among other things.  And all of these chemicals cause a stress response, which means increased cortisol.  And glyphosate, in particular, also dehydrates the body.  This is why I capitalized QUALITY water in the first paragraph.  Personally, I drink either Spring Water, or Reverse Osmosis water that I re-mineralize.  Spring water is by far the best, but it’s expensive so I usually only drink it about 30% of the time.  I also only buy spring water and store water in glass because plastic not only leeches xenoestrogens into the water, but glass has been shown to be the best at preventing microbial and bacterial growth.  Additionally, my own personal measurements show that glass preserves the high pH of alkaline water better than plastic (a copper container was actually the best).
What all of this means, is that you probably aren’t drinking enough water!  BTW, its now 11am and I am done with another liter of water!
